The tour will start with a stop at Trou aux Cerfs crater, which is possibly the main attraction of Curepipe apart from the shopping of course. Trou aux Cerfs is a dormant volcano with a well-defined cone and crater. It is 605 m (1,985 ft) high and located in Curepipe, Mauritius. The crater has been alternately described as 300 and 350 meters in diameter, and is 80 meters deep.
It is also known as Murr's Volcano. According to experts, the volcano is lying dormant but could become active at any time within the next thousand years. However, the crater affords lovely views around the island and it is even believed that when the weather is clear, we can see the coast of Reunion Island.
After, a brief stop at the volcano, we shall take you to the center of Curepipe when you can do some shopping.
Then we shall go direction of the Back River Gorges before ending at Chamarel Coloured earth..Among the oddest sites of the island are the seven coloured dunes at Chamarel, which is believed to result from the weathering of volcanic rocks. These undulation and vividly contrasted layers of earth are a short drive away from the beautiful Chamarel waterfalls.
